On the 18th of April, No Time Like the Presence organised a community screening of ‘Our Warrior: The Story of Uncle Robbie Thorpe’ and Q&A at Big Bang Studios in Northcote as part of the studio’s 10th birthday celebration. Alongside the film and Q&A, the event also featured the incredibly talented and prolific musical group Afrobiotics, the sister project of the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra of which Uncle Robbie is a founding member. The Crime Scene Australia team supported with merchandise, including CSA T-shirts, the incredible Crime Scene Australia comic book (available as an ebook here) and exclusive CSA graphic prints.
Unfortunately for those who were hoping to come to the event to see Our Warrior and join in the Q&A, the event sold out within a few days! However, the good news is that there are a number of upcoming screenings and you can easily organise your own community screening. All you need to do is arrange a suitable space and then head to ourwarriordoco.com/hostscreening and fill in the details. With enough notice and depending on suitability, it may even be possible to arrange a Q&A session and for the CSA team to provide an information and merch stall and logistical support at the event.
