Urgent Call – Share Your Story to Protect Camp Sovereignty’s Legacy

Dear Friends of Camp Sovereignty,

Djuran Bunjileenee AKA Uncle Robbie Thorpe and the Crime Scene Australia team are calling for submissions to gather testimonies that affirm the profound significance of Camp Sovereignty as part of the upcoming heritage value assessment of the area formerly known as King’s Domain. Your voice is critical to ensuring this sacred site is recognized, protected, and honored for generations to come.

Why Your Contribution Matters
Camp Sovereignty is a living testament to resilience, cultural continuity, and sovereignty. By sharing your experiences, you help document its social, cultural, and spiritual significance. We have big plans for this area and need as many people as possible to share their experiences that help to evidence the significance of the area.

What to Share
You might wish to submit a response based on your experience of:
Cultural/Spiritual Significance: Rituals, gatherings, events or teachings held here. Why does this land hold ancestral or contemporary meaning?

Personal/Community Impact: How has Camp Sovereignty strengthened identity, healing, or solidarity? Have you witnessed its role in activism or education?

Vision for the Future: What physical changes (e.g., monuments, gardens, information centre) or systemic shifts (e.g., council partnerships, funding) would honor this space?
